Mayhem

Mayhem adalah Black Metal band dari Oslo, Norwegia, yang didirikan oleh Manheim (drum), Euronymous (gitar & vokal), dan Necrobutcher (bass) pada tahun 1984.

Nama "Mayhem" diambil dari lagu Venom yang berjudul "Mayhem With Mercy".

Awalnya musik Mayhem dipengaruhi oleh genre Death Metal dan Speed Metal. Mayhem telah mengubah gaya musik mereka beberapa kali, dari Black Metal, Death Metal, Progressive Metal, Industrial dan Electronica.

Lirik Mayhem bertemakan tentang kegelapan, kekerasan, kematian, pembusukan, kebencian, perang, depresi, kejahatan, anti agama, dan satanisme.

Mayhem adalah band yang sangat kontroversial. Mereka terlibat dalam berbagai pembunuhan, bunuh diri, pembakaran gereja, dan tindakan kekerasan lainnya.
